Hunger curses don't always mean food
The party recoiled from the bright flash, arcane energy surging through the room and slowly dissipating. The girls checked themselves over, no cuts, no burns, no injuries at all in fact, was this just some deterrent for pests? It didn’t matter really, nobody was hurt and they were good to keep exploring the castle. The dining room, table set for a party that seemingly never arrived, yet all the food remained fresh. The smell of warm, hearty meals flooded the room, as slight rumbles and gurgles came from some of the party members, enticed by the thought of a quick lunch. The cleric wasted no time in looking everything over, not finding a single flaw in any dish as if they were just made by master chefs, and enticing some of the other members over. The fighter and rogue were first to indulge in the feast laid out for them, seeming to grow more hungry as they ate. Pastries, sandwiches, meats, along with various drinks lined the table, and were slowly being consumed by the two girls who’d
The city had told the girls to stay away, warnings of how many adventurers went into the house and never came out, nearby residents mentioning the haunting groans and screams in the night. Aside from the unease, and cold breeze they felt when they walked up to the mansion, the party felt however, everything seemed normal. An hour passed, and the grandfather clock made its first round of ringing. *gong, gong, gong*, 3 pm, the girls would be waiting quite a while for these ghosts to show up. . . *gong, gong, gong, gong, gong*, hours had passed, the occasional cold breeze as the girls continued to explore the house. That is, before a piercing screech was heard from a room upstairs where one of the girls was. The party rushed to meet their friend, only to find her standing by herself in the middle of the bedroom. The door slammed behind them as a mirage of a massive woman appeared before them, pale and blue, this is who they were looking for! The woman flew at the one who screamed
